Privacy policy
Introduction
This policy explains what timate.org collects when you visit, why we collect it, and what choices you have. We keep collection to the minimum a content site needs.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not build advertising profiles from your visit.
Information We Collect
When you load a page, our host records standard server data: your IP address, browser type and version, the page you requested, the referring page, and a timestamp. This is what keeps the site available and lets us spot faults.
Analytics tooling records aggregate usage such as page views, approximate region, device category, and time on page. It is aggregate by design and is not used to identify you.
If you submit the contact form or the newsletter form, you supply the details you type. Both forms on this site are decorative and do not currently transmit or store data. Reach us by email instead.
Cookies
A small number of cookies and equivalent local-storage entries keep the site working: one records whether you dismissed the cookie notice, another remembers whether you closed the promotional bar during your session.
Analytics cookies measure traffic in aggregate. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking them will not stop you reading anything here, though the cookie notice may reappear on each visit.
Affiliate Links and Third Parties
Links to retailer listings carry an affiliate tag. When you follow one, the retailer may set its own cookies and will apply its own privacy policy, which we do not control.
This site participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. Read the retailer privacy notice before you complete a purchase.
How We Use Information
We use server and analytics data to keep the site running, to understand which guides readers actually use, and to fix pages that load slowly or break. We use contact details only to answer the message you sent.
Data Retention and Security
Server logs are retained on a short rolling window by our host and then discarded. Aggregate analytics data is retained for as long as it stays useful for editorial decisions.
The site is served over HTTPS. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we limit what we hold in the first place.
Children's Privacy
This site is written for adults buying home storage and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Choices and Rights
You may block cookies, use browser tracking protection, or contact us to ask what we hold about you and request its deletion. Depending on where you live, you may hold additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, and we will honour valid requests under those laws.
Changes to This Policy
We will post any revision on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be summarised at the top of the page.
